Principal's Message

It is a pleasure to be the Principal of Principal
Mutchmor Public School. We are an OCDSB French Immersion centre for about 530 Junior Kindergarten to grade 6 students in the Glebe, a downtown neighbourhood in Ottawa.

A little about me
I am originally from Montreal and have lived in Quebec, Ontario and Nova Scotia. I enjoy travelling, camping, skiing and biking with my family and friends.

I began my teaching career in 1993 in Toronto and then joined the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board in 2000 when I moved to the Ottawa area. I have taught kindergarten to grade 8, in English, French Immersion and a bit of Core French. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in French and Psychology, a Bachelor of Education (primary/junior) and a Masters in Education in Organizational Studies. The bulk of my teaching experience lies in Early French Immersion but I have also worked as a Core French teacher, a late French Immersion teacher and an English teacher. I became a vice-principal in 2007 and worked as a VP at two different schools: First Avenue and Glashan. Then in 2014, I became the principal of First Avenue and then Mutchmor in 2015.

Our Work
I work closely with our vice-principal and all staff to serve our students and their families. We are flexible and want to set our students up for success. We strive to keep the line of communication open with families. In an effort to reduce our consumption of paper and the loss of documents, I send regular emails to Mutchmor families. This replaces traditional newsletters. We keep an online calendar of school activities on our website and tweet regularly. Our handle is @mutchmorps. If you need to communicate with us, you can telephone us at 613-239-2267. You can also email me directly at

Looking forward to our continued work together.
